The Asian Hornet, Update

Asian Hornet - April Update ( Bob Hewitt) At the beginning of April, the NBU began spring trapping in areas identified as high risk. Traps have been set at locations across Kent, East Sussex, Devon and North Yorkshire to monitor for signs of Asian hornet activity. On the 13th of April, a single hornet was caught in one of these traps near Four Oaks, Kent approx. 3km from the nest found in 2023. Successful 2022 Show Season For SSCG, Here’s to 2023…..

2022 was a great show season with many events attended and great support from our members. Graham and a few members attended the Belmont wood fair this year, he sent this report: It was a nice weekend , a good location in the woods, not a lot of foot fall, Bob H did his death defying trick of sleeping in a hammock, finding himself upside down in the middle of the night, as it is their neck of the woods Graham Taylor and Matt Craig put in an appearance .
